Speed up stock rotation and streamline picking with pallet live racking.
What Is Pallet Live Racking?
Pallet live racking, also known as gravity flow racking, uses inclined roller tracks and brake mechanisms to move pallets automatically from the loading end to the picking face. As one pallet is removed, the next slides into position. This system ensures a strict FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory flow, making it ideal for time-sensitive goods or fast-moving stock lines.
How It Works
Pallets are loaded at the rear of the racking lane and move forward via gravity to the front picking face. As pallets are removed from the front, the next in line rolls forward automatically. Built-in speed controls ensure safe and steady pallet movement.
This separation of loading and picking zones eliminates congestion and improves safety and throughput.
True FIFO rotation
Perfect for perishable goods, batch control, and expiry-sensitive stock
High-density storage
Up to 75% more capacity than conventional racking
Faster order picking
Clear designated picking area
Optimised flow
Separate loading and retrieval aisles improve warehouse efficiency
Reduced handling
Automatic pallet movement = less forklift time
Pallet live racking is popular with:
• Food and drink manufacturers – maintain FIFO for expiry-dated products
• Cold storage facilities – maximise space in temperature-controlled areas
• Logistics and 3PL – speed up operations while reducing labour
• Retail distribution – support fast pick rates and batch rotation
